On Saturday night we had a “first” on our church lawn. We had a gospel concert. Once we got the sound issues worked out you could hear the sound of praises to God echoing across the neighborhood. People who were just walking by stopped to listen. We have 12.5 acres of beautiful, green open space around our church. It’s really like a park. One of our members does a fantastic job of keeping it looking beautiful. People sometimes picnic, play ball, walk their dog, hurry to work using our property as a short cut. I think that’s a good thing. At our church we have a desire to reach out to the people who live and work around us. This concert was a small step in that direction. There are apartments on three side of our property. A lot of people would have heard our music. I think I’ll write to Fred Hammond and ask if he’ll do a free concert for us next year. The worst thing that could happen is that he says no. Imagine what would happen if he said yes. Now that would be crazy!

I guess all of these on the same ticket would be too much for the powers that be(and I daresay the ones who sign your paycheck) nothing wrong with dreaming. Every big invention or venture came from a dream, so we will dream on and allow God to work His will. Annual/semi-annual concert on the lawn sounds like an idea for BIG GROWTH and can only get better every year so let’s keep on keeping on!!!!!!!
